The Night of the Zoot Suit Riots (Scene 6)

Overall Impression: I did like this scene because Luis Valdez let us readers know what really went on between Sailors and Zoot Suiters. This scene wasn't confusing at all.

Quote:" Good Evening, Mr. and Mrs. North and South America and all the ships at sea. Let's go to press. Flash. Los Angeles, California, June 3, 1943. Serious rioting broke out here today as flying squadrons of Marines and Soldiers joined the Navy in a new assault on Zooter- infested districts. " (pg.79)

The Press said this news to everyone in the world. The Press wanted to hear feedback on what went on between the Sailors and Zoot Suiters on June 3, 1943. This quote is important because it changes the plot of this scene on how the Zoot Suit Riots played an important role in the trial.

Question: Back then did they really refer Mexicans as Zoot Suiters?
