Overall Impression: This was my favorite scene throughout the play because Henry has to choose how he will end up, this scene wasn't confusing.
Quote: "If there's one thing that will keep a man off the streets is his own familia. "
Enrique is telling his son Henry that he has a decision to make go back to prison or stay with his family. This scene was important because it ended the play and no one knows what happen to Henry.
Question: What really happen to Henry at the end of this play?

Access Granted (Scene 8)
Overall Impression: To be honest this was one of my favorite scenes, finally people of color could have a voice. This scene wasn't confusing just short and informative.
Quote: "The Los Angeles Daily News, Wednesday, November 8, 1944. Headline: District Court of Appeals decides in Sleepy Lagoon murder case... boys in pachuco murder given..." (pg.87)
The Press was mentioning the Los Angeles Daily News Headline which the appeal was granted for the Sleepy Lagoon trial.
Question: How long does it take for the District Court of Appeals to decide in a decision for an appeal?

Alice "The Advocate" (Scene 7)
Overall Impression: I liked this scene, I found out a lot about Henry and Alice. This scene was kind of confusing to me because I didn't know if Alice was really talking to Henry at the prison or it was just all in Henry's head.
Quote:" Stop it.. ! Please stop it! I won't have you treat me this way I never have been able to accept one person pushing another around... Because I'm a Jew, goddammit! I have been there! If you lose, I lose.(pg.84)
Alice is telling Henry about her past and what she been through that is kind of similar to what he is going through now. Alice wants Henry to know that she is not just doing this for her own good but for all colored- people. This scene is important because it develops Alice as an advocate.
Question: Is Alice really talking to Henry or Henry is just playing this event all in his head?

The Night of the Zoot Suit Riots (Scene 6)
Overall Impression: I did like this scene because Luis Valdez let us readers know what really went on between Sailors and Zoot Suiters. This scene wasn't confusing at all.
Quote:" Good Evening, Mr. and Mrs. North and South America and all the ships at sea. Let's go to press. Flash. Los Angeles, California, June 3, 1943. Serious rioting broke out here today as flying squadrons of Marines and Soldiers joined the Navy in a new assault on Zooter- infested districts. " (pg.79)
The Press said this news to everyone in the world. The Press wanted to hear feedback on what went on between the Sailors and Zoot Suiters on June 3, 1943. This quote is important because it changes the plot of this scene on how the Zoot Suit Riots played an important role in the trial.
Question: Back then did they really refer Mexicans as Zoot Suiters?

Knowing What's Real & Fake (Scene 5)
Overall Impression: I did like this scene, I like this scene because Henry finally faces reality that the Pachuco has a point about the appeal not working. This scene wasn't confusing it was pretty straight forward.
Quote:" Then tell your eyes to forget the light, ese only the hard floor is there, carnal Only the cold hard edge of this reality and there is no time... Each second is a raw drop of blood from your brain that you must swallow drop by drop and don't even start counting or you'll lose your mind. " (pg.77)
The Pachuco was talking to Henry, Pachuco wanted Henry to know that this is the truth there's not going to be an appeal. This quote is important because it contributes to a possible theme which is knowing what's real and fake.
Question: Why is Pachuco giving Henry nothing but negativity about the appeal?
